Doha Festival City reported an 18% year-on-year increase in footfall for March to date, with a 7.5% rise during the Eid period, driven by experience-focused offerings and seasonal activations.

This positive performance was supported by strong sales, leasing activity, and tenant performance across key retailers, with sustained visitor engagement during a period where community connection remains especially important.

High-impact events included the distribution of over 2,000 Eid goodie bags, 300 Iftar boxes for frontline and service workers, and community initiatives such as the Solidarity Wall, which reached full capacity within hours and was extended due to demand. Additional seasonal activities included the distribution of white flowers symbolizing peace and Mother’s Day experiences.

Digital engagement during the campaign period also recorded significant activity, with 14.2 million impressions, 422,000 engagements, and 10.2 million video views across online platforms.

Footfall growth was supported by new retail openings, including the cosmetics brand NARS, and reinvestments in existing stores such as Tissot, Al Shalawi Jewellery, Green Apple Pharmacy, and Sacoor Brothers.

Hayssam Hajjar, Executive Director – Asset Management at Al-Futtaim Real Estate, said the performance reflected the continued evolution of their destinations as experience-led, community-focused environments that respond to changing customer expectations, and highlighted ongoing leasing activity and a pipeline of new brands scheduled to open later in 2026.

“Through disciplined management, ongoing tenant curation, and a clear focus on experience, we continue to drive footfall, engagement, and spend across our portfolio. We remain on track with our leasing strategy, with a strong pipeline of new brands and concepts set to open this year, reinforcing the attractiveness of Doha Festival City and the confidence of our retail partners in its long-term performance. We also extend our appreciation to the Qatari authorities for their continued support,” he added.

Operational measures were maintained throughout the period to ensure a safe and seamless visitor experience, coordinated with relevant authorities.

Doha Festival City also plans upcoming initiatives, including a ‘Sustainable Futures’ event, as part of its broader programme of community and experience-led offerings.
