Mall of Qatar recorded strong footfall during the recent Eid week, marking one of its highest-performing periods to date. The increase comes amid ongoing regional tensions and highlights the continued role of public spaces where communities can gather during major occasions.
Thousands of residents and visitors from different nationalities visited the mall to celebrate Eid, shop, dine, and watch the Lumina Dream Show, creating a busy and festive atmosphere throughout the week.
“Moments like these remind us that malls today are far more than retail destinations,” said Michael Beverly, General Manager of Mall of Qatar. “They are social spaces where people connect, celebrate, and build community. Seeing families and friends gather in such numbers during Eid is a powerful message of optimism and resilience.”

Strong consumer confidence
A recent customer survey* supports this trend, with more than 85% of respondents saying they felt “very comfortable and at ease” when visiting the mall. Safety was identified as the main factor influencing visits, followed by the mall’s family-friendly environment, promotions, and entertainment offerings.
Key findings include:
- Many visitors spend two to three hours per visit, indicating strong engagement.
- Most customers reported maintaining or increasing the frequency of their mall visits.
- The core audience consists mainly of young professionals and families aged 25–44.
While shopping remains the main reason for visiting, dining and social activities with family and friends are also major drivers.
The survey also showed strong interest in events and entertainment, highlighting the role of live shows and seasonal programming in attracting visitors. During Eid, the mall hosted a range of activities that contributed to higher visitor engagement and longer stays.
The Mall of the Nation & the Stage of Nations project
Mall of Qatar said it is continuing to position itself as “The Mall of the Nation,” aiming to attract residents and visitors from different communities across the country.
“At its best, a mall reflects the community it serves,” said Rony Mourani, CEO of Assets Management. “This Eid week showed how Mall of Qatar continues to bring people together.”
The mall is also preparing to launch the MOQ Stage of Nations project, a cultural platform that will allow embassies and cultural institutions to showcase their national identity through performances, exhibitions, and cultural activities.
According to Mourani, the initiative is designed to encourage cultural exchange and highlight the diversity of Qatar’s international community.
