Eid Al-Fitr translates to ‘Holiday of Breaking the Fast’ and it is one of the two official holidays celebrated within Islam. Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. In Qatar, the first day of Eid Al-Fitr will be on Wednesday, 10th of April, 2024.
Eid Al Fitr 2024 holidays in Qatar
Amiri Diwan has announced holidays for Eid Al-Fitr 2024 in Qatar. The holidays for ministries, other government agencies, public bodies, and institutions start on Sunday, April 7, 2024, and end on Monday, April 15, 2024, with employees resuming their work on Tuesday, April 16, 2024
The Central Bank of Qatar, banks, and financial institutions are subject to the bank and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority: The Governor of the Central Bank of Qatar determines the start and end date of the holiday.
Eid Al-Fitr 2024 Prayer in Qatar
On the first day of Eid, the Eid Al-Fitr prayer is held after the Fajr prayer. The prayer time stipulated by the Ministry of Awqaf is usually 15 minutes after sunrise, and this year it will be held at 5:32 AM. People in Qatar may visit the following mosques to offer the Eid Al-Fitr prayer (we recommend arriving at least by 5:00 AM):

Zakat Al-Fitr
Zakat Al-Fitr is the charity obligation of adult male and female Muslims during the fasting month of Ramadan. This amount has to be paid before the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Every year, the Department of Zakat Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs AWQAF announces the Zakat Al Fitr amount in Qatar. For the year 2024, the amount of Zakat Al Fitr is QAR 15.

Eid Al-Fitr traditions
A popular tradition of Eid-Al Fitr is the Ediyah or Eidi. This tradition has been handed down through centuries from older generations and is still widely practiced today. Eidiyah, or Eidi, is money given to children as gifts to mark the occasion. It is usually distributed to the younger members of the family after the morning Eid prayer.
For Eid Al-Fitr, Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has installed the ‘Eidiah ATM’ service. The Eidiah ATM service allows its users to withdraw Qatari riyals in QR5, QR10, and QR50-100 denominations. The Eidiya ATMs are located in the following locations:
