The architecture: The museum building is astonishing and rightfully follows its name. At a first glance you will spot a tubular building with 5 Olympic colored rings. The building was designed by Spanish architect Joan Sibina and comprises a cylinder-shaped glass structure encircled by five Olympic-coloured rings that wrap around the museum at different heights and angles, mimicing the interlocked rings of the Olympic logo.

What it features: As you enter the museum, right from the outside you will be welcomed by a cushioned running track similar to the Olympic running tracks. The experience of the museum is so seamless, the galleries are located on the seventh floor of the museum. From the start, you will experience an interactive journey through the history and legacy of sports around the globe, the Olympic Games, Qatar football, and the Qatar World Cup!

The museum delivers a multi-layered educational narrative that combines a comprehensive collection with state-of-the-art technology and documents the significance of sports in Qatar. You will smoothly spiral through 7 galleries of the museum learning and interacting.

  • Next is an Olympics-themed gallery featuring, among other objects, a display of torches from every Winter and Summer Games from 1936 onwards.
  • You would thoroughly enjoy the next gallery called The Hall of Athletes, a gallery spanning three floors where visitors can learn to familiarize themselves with 90 top international athletes.
