During winter, many events and activities take place in Qatar. Most of the leisure events take place annually. They are unique to Qatar and are highly anticipated events expected during the winter season. From the below-mentioned events, the dates have already been announced while we wait for the official date announcement of the other events. Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2024

The Qatar Balloon Festival is gearing up for its 5th edition, planned from December 12th to 21st. This spectacular event is intended to attract even more visitors and make Qatar a must-visit global destination for hot air balloon enthusiasts.

Ajyal Film Festival

Coffee Tea & Chocolate Festival
The 8th edition of the Coffee Tea & Chocolate Festival (CTC) will return this year in Al Bidda Park. The annual festival features more than 40 kiosks dedicated to coffee, tea, chocolate, and sweets, along with a food court housing eight restaurants.
The event will also feature a dedicated kids and carnival area alongside a stage for entertainment performances,

Lusail WinterWonderland season

Katara Traditional Dhow Festival
The Katara Traditional Dhow Festival is a celebration of Qatar’s maritime legacy that takes place annually at Katara Beach. The festival pays homage to the deep-rooted maritime traditions of Qatar. Visitors will enjoy live entertainment and activities related to maritime, pearl diving, and Dhow boats along with traditional food.

Qatar National Day celebrations
Qatar National Day is celebrated on the 18th of December every year. In celebration of the National Day, a morning parade and air show take place on Doha Corniche. Locals and residents decorate their cars and houses by putting on the national flag and hanging pictures of other patriotic symbols.
Qatar’s key destinations like Msheireb Downtown Doha, Old Doha Port, Katara Cultural Village, AlHazm, The Pearl, and more organize events and activities to celebrate the national day.

Darb Al Saai
Every year for Qatar National Day, the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the The National Day Organizing Committee, organizes Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal. Darb Al Saai event highlights the history and authentic heritage of Qatar with many cultural events and activities, especially for children. It is a highlight anticipated and well loved event that all residents and locals wait for.

D’reesha Performing Arts Festival
As its annual celebration of creativity and cultural exchange returns, Qatar Foundation invites talented artists and performers to share their unique voices and stories at the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival.
Qatar Kite Festival
The annual Qatar Kite Festival is a vibrant event of which the highlight is the spectacular showcase of colorful kites flying across the Doha skyline.
At the event, visitors get to enjoy workshops, arts and crafts, and thrilling competitions. Visitors will see international kite experts showcase their colorful creations and join in public flying sessions, kite building, decorating, and handling lessons. The event is free.

Qatar International Food Festival
This annual event is Qatar’s biggest food extravaganza that features mouth-watering food and live entertainment from famous restaurants, culinary stars and hospitality experts. The previous editions were a hit with unique culinary experiences, cooking theater, nightly fireworks shows, and live entertainment.

CHI Al Shaqab
Al Shaqab annually organizes and hosts the editions of CHI AL SHAQAB Presented by Longines.The premier equestrian competition, which takes place at the spectacular Longines Arena at Al Shaqab, welcomes top-ranking local and international equestrian stars to compete in the Olympic disciplines of Showjumping, Dressage, and Para-Dressage.
Created in 2013, CHI Al Shaqab is one of only five CHI competitions worldwide, and the first and only equestrian event of its kind in the Middle East and Asia regions. It has evolved to become the most renowned competition on the world’s equestrian calendar.
