Based on the Emiri Decree No. 80 of 2011 designates the 2nd Tuesday of February each year as a national sports day to promote a healthy lifestyle nationwide. Qatar is one of the few countries to dedicate a day to sports. On this day all organizations, businesses, and other entities organize several events and activities that revolve around sports and fitness. Most of them are free to attend for the public.
