The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has unveiled its Ramadan 1447 AH programme under the slogan “Obedience and Forgiveness,” featuring nationwide Quranic, preaching, endowment and Zakat initiatives.
The plans were announced at Imam Muhammad ion Abdul Wahhab Mosque in the presence of Undersecretary Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani.
Director of Public Relations and Communication Ahmed bin Shaheen Al Ghanem said the programme aims to strengthen faith, social cohesion and spiritual values through mosque activities, media outreach and community initiatives.
Ramadan preparations include iftar projects across the country, Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers, and designated mosques for i’tikaf. Religious lectures, sermons and Zakat awareness campaigns will be delivered, while Eid prayer grounds are being prepared. Programmes will also be broadcast in cooperation with Qatar Media Corporation and digital platforms, supported by social media campaigns.
The “Iftar Saem” initiative will serve 360,000 fasting individuals, alongside “Basket of Giving” aid packages and charitable programmes supporting vulnerable groups. Daily recitations from the Katara Prize for Quran Recitation will be aired, and the “Eid Joy” initiative will reach more than 4,000 children.
Mosques across the country are fully prepared, with 12 Qatari imams appointed at Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab Mosque and 113 cooperative imams deployed nationwide. Student muezzins will participate through the “Bilal Al-Asr” programme.

The Zakat Affairs Department has launched a digital-focused plan led by the “Your Zakat Is a Trust” campaign, supported by 28 collection points, mosque collectors and online services including a Zakat calculator and smart payment systems. Zakat Al Fitr distributions will be delivered to beneficiaries in coordination with partner companies.
The Da’wah and Religious Guidance Department will deliver Quran recitation circles, 100 Ramadan lectures, scholarly seminars and hospital visits in partnership with Hamad Medical Corporation, alongside media programmes and initiatives for women and children, including activities at Mall of Qatar.
Engineering works include the completion of 12 new mosques with 12 more to follow, maintenance across existing mosques, preparation of 1,000 women’s prayer areas, 25 i’tikaf mosques and six temporary mosques, with emergency teams on standby.
The Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center will deliver multilingual Ramadan programmes for non-Arabic speakers, aiming to reach around 250,000 people through lessons, outreach, guided iftars and public events.
The Ministry will also launch Islamic publications and distribute new titles, including the Qatar Mushaf, while the Islamic Research Department will run daily Ramadan competitions and partner with Qatar National Library on a programme exploring mosque architecture.
The Ministry said the initiatives aim to deepen religious awareness, promote moderation and strengthen community engagement throughout Ramadan in Qatar.
