HH The Amir Visits National Command Center to Review Crisis Preparedness

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani visited the National Command Center of the Ministry of Interior on Thursday, March 5, to review the country’s crisis and emergency preparedness systems.

At the start of the visit, HH received a briefing on the crisis and emergency management framework, including mechanisms for immediate response to various developments. The briefing also covered rapid response plans for incidents and procedures for raising alert levels when necessary.

The Amir reviewed the center’s monitoring, surveillance and follow-up systems, as well as decision-support mechanisms implemented during exceptional circumstances. These systems aim to enhance comprehensive national readiness, ensure the continuity of vital services, and safeguard security and stability across the country.

HH praised the efforts of Ministry of Interior personnel, commending their continued readiness to carry out their national duty in protecting the nation’s security and safety.

Earlier today, the Ministry of Defense announced that the country was attacked starting from 11:51 am by several missile strikes, including (14) ballistic missiles and (4) drones coming from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the statement, Qatar’s Armed Forces successfully intercepted (13) missiles, while the last missile fell in the territorial waters of the State of Qatar. The (4) drones were also intercepted successfully without any human casualties.

The Ministry emphasized that the Qatar Armed Forces possess full capabilities and resources to safeguard the state’s sovereignty and territory and to respond firmly to any external threat.

It also urged citizens, residents and visitors to remain calm, adhere to official instructions issued by security authorities, avoid rumors and rely solely on information released through official channels.
