The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has announced the partial resumption of air navigation in Qatar, operating through designated emergency air routes with limited capacity.
In a statement issued on Friday, March 6, the authority said the move is being implemented in full coordination with the Qatari Armed Forces and other relevant authorities in the country.
According to the authority, this phase includes the operation of a limited number of flights designated for passenger evacuation, in addition to the movement of air cargo flights, amid the current regional circumstances, in order to ensure the continued provision of essential air services.
The authority affirmed that it is continuing operations with the highest level of operational readiness, while maintaining close coordination with relevant national entities to ensure the safety and security of passengers and civil aviation sector workers, and to maintain the smooth flow of air navigation in accordance with the highest international standards.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority added that it is closely monitoring developments and will keep the public and aviation sector partners informed of any updates as they arise.
Passengers with confirmed bookings with airlines are advised to follow the latest information regarding their flights. The authority also clarified that the flights currently being operated do not include scheduled flights to and from Doha, which will resume once an official announcement is issued regarding the safe reopening of the airspace.
