Qatar Tourism has announced that visitors currently in Qatar who are unable to depart due to travel restrictions may receive a temporary hotel stay extension supported by the authority.
The initiative is intended to assist visitors whose travel plans were disrupted during the current regional circumstances.
According to Qatar Tourism, the extension applies to visitors staying in licensed hotels in Qatar and aims to ensure that affected guests have continued accommodation and meals during their extended stay.
Eligibility Criteria
Visitors may qualify for the temporary hotel stay extension if they meet the following conditions:
- Staying in a licensed hotel in Qatar (not a holiday home).
- Checked in on or before February 28 2026.
- Had a confirmed departure flight between February 28 and March 3 2026 that was cancelled or disrupted.
Entry Visa Update
Qatar Tourism also confirmed that entry visas expiring from February 28, 2026 have been automatically extended for one month and may be renewed subject to official updates. Visitors are advised to follow the latest updates and information related to visas through the official Hayya Platform.
What Qatar Tourism Covers
Under the support programme, Qatar Tourism will cover:
- Room accommodation (same room type)
- Three meals per day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner
