The Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has called on Muslims across Qatar to observe the sighting of the crescent moon that will mark the start of the holy month of Ramadan, on the evening of Tuesday, 29 Sha’ban 1447 AH, corresponding to February 17, 2026.
The committee urged anyone who sights the crescent to report their observation in person to the ministry’s headquarters at Dafna Tower, where testimonies will be received and verified.
The committee will convene immediately after Maghreb prayer to review the reports.
