FIFA has officially approved that the 2025, 2029, and 2033 editions of FIFA Arab Cup will be hosted by Qatar. The decision and announcement occurred during the 28th council meeting of FIFA that took place in Bangkok, Thailand on May 15, 2024.
The FIFA Council met in advance of the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, and adopted several key decisions, for which the international match calendar was unanimously approved.
It was mentioned in the meeting that, FIFA Arab Cup: At the request of the Qatar Football Association, Qatar will host the tournament in 2025, 2029, and 2033, which will follow the principle of an invitational competition not included in the International Match Calendar.
Qatar had expressed its desire to host the FIFA Arab Cup for a second consecutive time in December 2025, which was revealed by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, in mid-February, in a television interview.
Qatar hosted the last edition of the FIFA Arab Cup in December 2021 with the participation of 16 teams, when Algeria won the title against Tunisia. It was successful by all standards, especially since it witnessed a huge crowd presence, and rekindled the spirit of Arab football.
The State of Qatar organized the marvelous FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in the best stadiums across the country. Qatar was also awarded the title of ‘’Best World Cup’’ ever hosted by a country.
