The Council of Ministers Secretariat General has announced that remote work will be implemented across all ministries, government entities, public bodies and institutions on Sunday, March 1, 2026, in light of current regional developments.
The decision applies to all public-sector employees, except those in the military and security sectors, the health sector, and employees whose duties require their physical presence at the workplace.
The Secretariat General urged citizens and residents to rely on trusted sources for information and to follow all security and safety guidance issued by the relevant authorities in the country.
In a separate notice, the Ministry of Labour, in coordination with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, recommended that private-sector entities also implement remote working arrangements on the same day wherever the nature of work permits.
Businesses whose operations require employees to be physically present are exempt from the recommendation but must strictly adhere to approved safety protocols and take all necessary measures to ensure the protection of their staff.
Retail outlets and service-oriented activities involving direct engagement with the public, including shops, consumer cooperatives and restaurants, are also exempt to ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential goods and services.
Authorities reaffirmed that the safety and security of all employees remain a top priority, commending the cooperation of employers and workers and calling on all stakeholders to act responsibly and remain vigilant under the current circumstances.
