A new cake shop in Doha by French pastry chef Marc Razurel is set to bring a refined vision of modern pâtisserie to The Ned Doha, as Millie’s Cake Shop opens along the Corniche, introducing a luxury concept aimed at elevating the city’s dessert scene.
Led by Executive Pastry Chef Marc Razurel, the concept reflects a contemporary approach to pâtisserie, where precision, creativity, and storytelling come together in every creation.
For Razurel, the story behind Millie’s begins long before the kitchen, shaped by childhood memories and a deep-rooted appreciation for food. Growing up surrounded by family meals, he developed an early connection to flavor, presentation, and the ritual of gathering around the table.
“My grandmother, mother, and grandfather all inspired me with their love for well-prepared, flavorful food,” he said. “I was always in the kitchen, helping prepare and plate dishes. I still remember my grandmother’s apple tart. It remains the best I have ever tasted.”
That sense of memory and emotion continues to inform his work today.
Rooted in French pastry tradition and reimagined through a modern lens, the menu balances flavor, texture, and visual elegance. Each cake is designed as a complete sensory experience.
“Each creation at Millie’s Cake Shop is designed as a balance between precision and emotion,” Razurel said. “I wanted every cake to feel refined yet effortless — visually striking, but also deeply satisfying in flavor.”
At the heart of the concept is a curated cake display featuring both individual portions and larger creations for sharing and celebration. From delicate citrus profiles to rich chocolate compositions, the collection reflects a harmony between tradition and innovation.
Beyond cakes, the shop also introduces an elevated French bakery selection, with freshly baked viennoiseries including butter croissants, pain au chocolat, and variations featuring almond, pistachio, and gianduja. Each item is crafted with the same attention to detail and balance that defines the brand.
Designed to reflect the signature character of The Ned Doha, the space offers an elegant yet inviting setting for guests to experience modern pâtisserie in a refined environment.
Millie’s Cake Shop is scheduled to open April 26, 2026, at The Ned Doha.
